Bill Niland

Bill joined Harpoon Medical as its president and CEO in 2014. A true entrepreneur, Harpoon Medical is Bill’s fourth medical device startup over a 25-year career in the medical device industry. He founded and was the Chief Business Officer of Vapotherm, a noninvasive ventilation company that pioneered a new treatment modality now known as “high flow nasal cannula therapy.” Earlier in his career Bill started and successfully managed two other healthcare companies which were eventually sold to Mediq Mobile X-ray and Vital Signs. Bill holds 12 patents for medical devices.
Bill Walker, PhD

William Walker, PhD, has 25 years of experience in the development of medical ultrasound technology, with expertise in instrumentation, ultrasound physics, clinical applications, intellectual property and market assessment. He has been an active founder in three ultrasound-based medical device companies.Walker applied his entrepreneurial temperament as a faculty member at the University of Virginia from 1997 to 2010. He has a proven ability to build and motivate world-class technology development teams, garner the resources to support them, and achieve dramatic breakthroughs. Walker holds both BSE and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University.

Peter has a diverse business background and got his start as an associate at Latham & Watkins in the firm's Silicon Valley Emerging Growth Companies and corporate departments.During his tenure at Latham, Peter represented a wide range of early stage companies in the healthcare sector in a variety of transactions including venture financings, joint ventures, licensing transactions and mergers and acquisitions.
Aliaksei Pustavoitau, MD
Critical Care Ultrasound Expert

Dr. Aliaksei Pustavoitau is an assistant professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include anesthesiology and transplant surgery. He is an editor for the Society of Critical Care Medicine for the society’s ultrasound course. Dr. Pustavoitau received his medical degree from the Belarussian State Medical Institute. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at Detroit Medical Center and performed a fellowship in anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
